Central Park

At the old Carousel; Now gone ?
Haven't even seen the park in years.

But yesterday ! Oh, yesteryear !
How it shone and sang !
Its little jangling, singsong tune
Ringing up and down the paths nearby.

I rode the horse
And in the carriage, too.
Round and round, and sang
hummed its jingling tune
reached vainly in hopes of a ring
But there was none.

Then rode out over the fields,
past the children on line
And their parents waiting,
Gathered about that singular Merry-Go-Round
In the midst of Central Park.
